Richard is our Principle Specialist Orthodontist. Richard qualified in Dentistry from Birmingham University in November 1984. He has worked in Burton on Trent since January 1985 developing a special interest in orthodontics and building up a busy referral orthodontic list. He worked as a clinical assistant in Orthodontics at the Royal Derby Hospital from 1996 to 2012 working on many complex multi-disciplined cases, as a result of this and his experience, in May 2002 was accepted as a Specialist Orthodontist on to the Specialist Orthodontic register by the General Dental Council. A keen member of the Local Orthodontic Committee and British Orthodontic Society keeps abreast of all that’s new in orthodontics. In 2009 he established Modwena Orthodontics. He’s slowed his professional pace (just a little!), now enjoying more cycling, gardening and travel—but rest assured, his booming voice can still be heard cheerfully around the practice two days a week.

Ed is one of our clinical directors. Ed qualified as a Dentist from Birmingham University in 2017. After undertaking further training, he now dedicates most of his time to orthodontics. Ed still keeps his hand in general dentistry at our sister practice in Stoke on Trent where he specialises in treating nervous patients. Ed is an active member of Burton Round Table and when not at work you might spot him fundraising with Santa, riding his bike for a good cause or skiing with the boys.

Sunny joined the practice in 2016. He qualified as a Dentist in 2008 from the University of Manchester. After which he worked as a general dentist for several years in the Midlands. He then decided to broaden his dental skills and gain invaluable experience, by working within hospitals in various Maxillo-facial surgery and Paediatric positions in the North West. This led him to specialise in Orthodontics at Cardiff University and finish his Orthodontic specialist training with distinction in 2016. Sunny thoroughly enjoys the ever changing technical and scientific aspects of being an Orthodontist, in particular transforming people’s teeth to give them a confident smile. Outside of the practice, Sunny’s either hiking steep mountains (Machu Picchu and Kilimanjaro ticked off) or persuading gadgets to behave. If you want a straighter smile and a travel tip, Sunny’s the one.
Mohit is one of our Specialist Orthodontists. Mohit qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 2002 in India before moving to the UK in 2005. In 2015 Mohit was appointed Consultant in Orthodontics at the United Lincolnshire Hospitals and later at the Royal Derby Hospital in 2017. Mohit’s evenings are kept busy by his young twin boys but he likes to unwind and relax by doing some yoga! Mohit also loves any opportunity to travel back to India to see his family.
